Students at a Bulgarian Sunday school in Riccione, Italy, met with their peers visiting from Bulgaria April 5, the Sunday school principal, Ivelina Ivanova, told BTA. The Bulgarian students are visiting the town of Cattolica under the Erasmus programme.

The visitors were in a mixed group of secondary and high-school students from the southern Bulgarian towns of Blagoevgrad and Gotse Delchev.

"The joint class we had was very emotional for us and for the Bulgarian children alike," Ivanova told BTA.

She also said, "They told us about their school and we told them about ours. The meeting will surely stay in their hearts."

Named after Bulgarian historical figure Rayna Knyaginya, the Bulgarian Sunday school in Riccione was established over nine years ago. For the first three years it was a branch of the Bulgarian school Bulgarina in Pescara and has since been a stand-alone establishment.
