Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Ivanov has asked the chair of the Managing Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency to sack the head of Road Infrastructure Maintenance Directorate and the head of the Repair Works Unit of the Pleven Regional Road Authority, the Ministry press office said Wednesday.

The Minister's move followed an audit he ordered last week over a deadly car crash near Telish, Pleven Region, which killed a 12-year-old girl. Many, including experts, have blamed the poor condition of the road for the crash. In social media posts that went viral, the girl's father blamed the lack of accountability of the State.
