Speaking to reporters in Parliament on Wednesday, There Is Such a People Deputy Floor Leader Stanislav Balabanov said that the 2025 draft budget that will be laid before the Cabinet "meets all the criteria needed for Bulgaria to continue its path towards joining the euro area" and acts "as an antidote to the toxic financial policy pursued by [former finance minister] Assen Vassilev in recent years".

Balabanov added that "because of Assen Vassilev’s terrible financial policy, the government is doing the impossible to ensure that Bulgaria can finally start drafting more rightist and reformist budgets," Balabanov said.

Late on Tuesday evening, the Finance Ministry published the 2025 State Budget Bill and the Medium-Term Budget Forecast for the 2025-2028 period, which serves as the explanatory memorandum to the bill.
