In December 2024, the production index in the Construction sector decreased by 3.4% compared to the previous month, according to preliminary and seasonally adjusted data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI), released on Monday. The calendar-adjusted data show a 2.2% increase in construction output compared to the same month in 2023.
A NSI report shows that in November 2024, the production index in the sector increased by 1.8% on a monthly basis, and by 8.6% on an annual basis.
Monthly changes
In December 2024 a decrease was recorded compared to the previous month in the output of specialized construction activities (by 6.3%), as well as in the output of construction of facilities (by 2.1%), and in the construction of buildings (by 1.7%).
In November 2024, an increase was recorded compared to October in the output of specialized construction activities (by 3.3%), in the output of construction of facilities (by 1.6%), and in the construction of buildings (by 0.6%), according to a NSI report.
Annual changes
In December 2024, compared to the same month in 2023, an increase of 4.8% was recorded in the construction of facilities and a 2.7% increase was recorded in specialized construction activities. The output of construction of buildings remained at the level of the previous year.
A NSI report indicates that in November 2024, compared to the previous month, growth of 11.8% was recorded in specialized construction activities, 8.8% in the construction of facilities and 5.9% in the output of building construction.
