Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev commented on Constitutional Court's ruling that 16 MPs in the 51st National Assembly were unlawfully elected on October 27, 2024. Speaking to journalists in Parliament on Thursday, he responded to questions whether the court's decision brings threat to the Cabinet's stability: "If a government focuses on surviving, it will get nothing done."

"I am not saying the topic is not important. As long as it is possible we will work with all our strength", Donchev added. Asked whether the decision of the court will affect the majority in parliament and thus the legislative activity of the National Assembly around the reforms undertaken under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Donchev said that there is such possibility.

"After all, forming this majority was so hard. Even its existence is difficult in some kind of dynamic stability regime," he added.
