Bulgaria will participate in NATO’s political-military crisis management exercise CMX25 from March 13 to 18, the press centre of the Foreign Ministry said. The aim of the event is to practice the procedures for conducting consultations and making decisions at the strategic political-military level, related to the implementation of the Strategic Concept and in support of the three main tasks of the Alliance. Civilian and military personnel from the capitals of the member states, NATO Headquarters and the two strategic commands will participate in the exercise. As in previous exercises, no military forces will be deployed.

The exercise will include the use of NATO’s response procedures and mechanisms in a complex civil-military scenario in a highly hybrid environment.

CMX25 will also include testing of the interaction procedures between NATO and European Union bodies.

Since 1992, this is the 24th consecutive exercise in the CMX series.
