The Cor Caroli Foundation is looking for volunteers, the non-governmental organization said on Thursday.
The foundation is looking for Varna residents who are passionate about the sea and sailing and who have knowledge in the field, as well as desire to meet new people, participate in new activities and projects, the NGO noted. Their main tasks will be to assist in organizing and conducting the foundation's events, preparing and publishing articles on its website, maintaining correspondence with sponsors, and carrying out logistical and coordination activities during the events.
The Cor Caroli Foundation traditionally organizes the largest regatta of the same name on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which is also the longest sailing competition with the largest number of participants in Bulgaria. The foundation was established in 1992 in memory of Capt. Georgi Georgiev, the first Bulgarian to make a solo round-the-world trip on a yacht. It annually presents the Cor Caroli Transition Award for the best Bulgarian sailing achievement, as well as the Tinko Trifonov Award for journalism on maritime and sailing topics.
