site.btaUPDATED Demonstration in Support of Animal Husbandry Staged in Downtown Sofia

The Bulgarian Brothers non-governmental association staged a demonstration in support of Bulgarian animal husbandry in front of the Council of Ministers building in downtown Sofia on Thursday.

The protesters called for the unification of breeders in Bulgaria and asked the state institutions to focus their attention on the problems in the industry.

The demonstrators warned that if their demands were not met, they would demand the resignation of the caretaker agriculture minister Georgi Tahov, as well as resignations of executives in other responsible state institutions.

However, later in the day, in a BTA interview, Atanas Mavrodiev, founder of the Bulgarian Brothers association, said that they do not demand any resignations, as this would not solve their problems. If one resigns, another will take his place, and the problem remains unsolved. "We want dialogue," he underscored.
