site.btaFinance Minister Petkova to Attend ECOFIN Meeting in Brussels
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova will participate in a regular meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union (ECOFIN) on December 10 in Brussels, the press centre the Finance Ministry said on Monday. The Council is preceded by a Eurogroup meeting on December 9.
The agenda of the ECOFIN meeting includes a legislative proposal to amend a directive on the taxation of energy products and electricity and progress on the legislative package for the reform of the Customs Union. A discussion will also take place on the published first part of the 2025 European Semester autumn package on the implementation of the reformed EU economic governance framework. The European Court of Auditors will present its annual report on the implementation of the EU budget for the financial year 2023.
During the meeting, Council members will discuss the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility and approve amendments to the plans of Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia and Sweden. There will also be a discussion on the economic and financial consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
