Writers Carmen Posadas, Matthias Nawrat and Agnes Desarthe will talk to Bulgarian readers at the National Palace of Culture on Sunday. They are guests of the 12th Sofia International Literary Festival, taking place during the Sofia International Book Fair, the organizers said.

Carmen Posadas was born in Montevideo in 1953, but has lived in Madrid since 1965. She is the author of essays, film and television scripts, short stories, children's books and several novels. Little Indiscretions won her the 1998 Planeta Prize. Her books have been translated into 21 languages ​​and published in more than 40 countries. The moderator of her meeting with Bulgarian readers will be Daniel Dimitrov.

Matthias Nawrat was born in Poland and lives in Germany. In 2012, he published his first novel, The Two of Us Alone, and then wrote four more book, including The Sad Guest which was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature in 2020. The moderator of the conversation with the audience at the National Palace of Culture will be Ani Burova.

Agnes Desarthe began her writing career with books for children, and in 1993 she published her first novel for adults, A Few Minutes of Absolute Happiness. In addition to being an author, Desarthe is a translator from English. She was a finalist for the Goncourt Prize in 2021. In Bulgaria, Desarthe is known for the novel The Eternal Fiancé. The moderator of the conversation with her will be Toni Nikolov.

The cultural programme of the Sofia International Book Fair on Sunday includes the premiere of Professor Kiril Topalov's new book featuring stories about the Bulgarian Renaissance, Neli Karameli's fantasy tale with dragons and dwarves, Sergei Bubnovsky's books on the topics of health through proper movement and rehabilitation after injuries.

The Science, Art and Culture non-fiction festival also continued on Sunday, with books on modernism, opera and theatre, as well as a variety of ethnology books, cultural tourism books.

Zlatna Kostova will present the book From Chrysalis to Butterfly which includes previously unpublished scripts by writer and director Lyudmil Todorov (1955-2023).
