site.btaPresident Radev Says Bulgaria Needs Realistic Budget as Soon as Possible

Speaking from Munich on Friday, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said he expected Bulgaria to have a realistic budget as soon as possible. He is participating in the 61st Munich Security Conference.

"It is entirely the prerogative of the Finance Ministry and the government to present a budget, so I expect this to happen at the earliest possible date," the President stated.

According to Radev, the Members of Parliament should make systematic efforts to ensure effective work on budget-related issues and to restore the public's trust in institutions.

"At the moment, crucial decisions are ahead, which will shape the future of Europe, including Bulgaria's future," Radev said. "The messages and conduct displayed in Parliament need to be different from what we have been seeing. If that happens, all other pressing issues will find much more effective solutions," he concluded.
