Yavor Penchev has been appointed as the chair of the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), the government press service said here on Wednesday.
The Council of Ministers released Petko Stefanovski as the State representative on the NHIF Supervisory Board and appointed Deputy Minister of Health Yavor Penchev to the position. The same government decision also named Penchev as the chair of the Supervisory Board.
On February 5, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov appointed six deputy ministers, naming Penchev as the Deputy Minister of Health. Penchev previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works from December 2021 to June 2022. He has a law degree and more than 15 years of experience as an independent lawyer, specializing in commercial, contract, and administrative law. Penchev succeeds Stefanovski as Deputy Minister of Health.
