There is a coalition against the adoption of the euro, which is led by Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov and has the tacit support of GERB, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria MP Ivaylo Mirchev told journalists in Parliament on Friday.

"Kostadinov is allowed to attack the euro with all sorts of arguments typical of his organization, and GERB and [GERB leader] Boyko Borissov are playing along. It is obvious that they are not going to go for a budget with a 3% deficit and this is a certain way to sabotage [joining] the eurozone. This governing coalition is what Borissov asked for. He says that he is on the sidelines of this process, but in fact he is not, because he defined the coalition to be in this form with parties that do not want us to enter the euro area. We will not leave it like this and we will continue with all methods to put pressure on Bulgaria to be in the euro area," Mirchev said.

"It is being explained how the costs are high, while at the same time 500 million is being given to restaurateurs and salaries in the Interior Ministry are being increased," he added.

Democratic Bulgaria MPs launched two legislative initiatives. One is for changes in the Public Procurement Act, which provides for private hospitals, which are financed by the health fund, to make tenders. The second bill provides for the removal of monuments symbolizing the communist regime in Bulgaria.
