MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski is committed to the problems of the Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation, the press centre of his party said. Peevski met with Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation President Stefan Botev, to discuss the dire financial situation of the federation.

The two rallied around the idea that the withdrawal of the federation's license and leaving the Bulgarian athletes without support should not be allowed. During the meeting, the risk of the federation not receiving a budget from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and not being able to provide Bulgarian weightlifters with conditions for training and participation in international competitions was discussed. Delyan Peevski committed together with the leadership of the Federation to find a solution to overcome the crisis and to act together with the Bulgarian weightlifters, in one team for Bulgaria.

In November last year, the Ministry of Youth and Sports issued a statement announcing its support for the national weightlifting athletes.
