A parliamentary candidate of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms was arrested in Sofia for vote buying, his lawyer Yordan Kirov told BTA on Wednesday night.

The Counter-corruption Commission searched the suspect's home in the Manastirski Livadi neighbourhood, Kirov said. It impounded documents relevant to another case.

The next step should be either to leave the parliamentary candidate in custody for 72 hours and press charges against him, or to release him, Kirov said.
