site.btaSearches and Seizures Conducted at Several Addresses in Simitli Municipality Under European Public Prosecutor's Office's Supervision

The General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) carried out searches and seizures at several addresses in the southwestern Municipality of Simitli, the Interior Ministry told BTA. GDCOC's actions are carried out under the guidance and supervision of the European Public Prosecutor's Office in connection with its investigation.

Simitli Mayor Apostol Apostolov told BTA that an operation was carried out Wednesday in the municipal administration, requesting information on a project implemented by the Municipality. He said his home was also searched. Apostolov added that this is another inspection being carried out in the municipal administration, but he has no concerns as the rules were followed during the implementation of the project in question.
