Bulgarian municipalities will receive over BGN 55 million for organizational and technical preparation of the upcoming early parliamentary elections, and the funds for the Ministry of Interior are more than BGN 15 million. This is according to the detailed draft budget of costs and transfers for the preparation and production of the parliamentary elections on October 27, published on Monday in the legal information system of the Council of Ministers.

The costs of the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the organizational and technical preparation of the elections will amount to BGN 3.6 million. Of this amount, BGN 1.35 million are earmarked for salaries, including social security contributions of employees under labour and civil contracts, and for material and technical support. Another BGN 850,000 will be spent on an explanatory campaign on the rights and obligations of citizens and on the voting procedure, as well as on the training of members of the regional and section election commissions. The media packages to be paid by the CEC to the parties, coalitions and initiative committees cost BGN 1.4 million. 

A total of BGN 8,713,100 is earmarked for the Council of Ministers. Of these, BGN 3,781,400 is for the remuneration, including social security contributions, of the members of the regional election commissions. Another BGN 4,931,700 is for logistical support for the election process by the administration of the Council of Ministers and the regional administrations.

Transfers to municipalities total BGN 55,861,600. Of these, BGN 40,717,000 will be spent on the remuneration, including social security contributions, of the members of the section election commissions. The remaining BGN 15,144,600 is earmarked for logistical support for the election process. 

The expenditures by ministries and other departments are as follows: the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works - BGN 1,867,800; Ministry of the Interior - BGN 15,120,000; Ministry of Foreign Affairs - BGN 9,271,900; Ministry of Justice - BGN 87,000. Ministry of Education and Science - BGN 33,800; Ministry of Economy and Industry - BGN 164,000; Ministry of E-Government - BGN 2,162,800; Bulgarian National Radio - BGN 850,000; Bulgarian National Television - BGN 2,000,000; Bulgarian News Agency - BGN 250,000; Council for Electronic Media - BGN 25,000; National Audit Office - BGN 21,000. 

In total, expenditure and transfers amounting to BGN 100,028,000 are foreseen in the draft budget.
