А solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the Bulgarian Navy will take place in Varna on Saturday, the Defence Ministry said in a press release.
The event will be opened by the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kiril Mihaylov, and will be attended by caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov.
Zapryanov and Eftimov will congratulate the serving personnel of the Navy and award distinguished servicemen and civilians.
On August 5, the annual celebrations started traditionally in the city of Ruse (on the Danube), where the Navy of the Principality of Bulgaria was established on August 12, 1879.
