site.btaAgriculture Ministry Forms Expert Committees to Ascertain Damage Caused by Wildfires

By order of Caretaker Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov, representatives of the Regional Agriculture Directorates have formed expert committees to ascertain the damage caused by wildfires in agricultural areas, including destroyed production and dead farm animals, the Agriculture Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The members of the committees will visit all municipalities where state of disaster has been declared. The inspections will be carried out at the earlies opportunity, once the situation has normalised.

Under the de minimis scheme, farmers can receive compensation for the loss of agricultural output, animals, bee colonies, and animal feed due to the fires. The ceiling for support that an individual farmer can receive in three consecutive tax years is up to EUR 25,000.
