GERB leader Boyko Borissov promised citizens in Sandanski on Thursday that illegal migrants would not be allowed into Bulgaria. Borissov noted that his party managed to achieve this three years ago. “For all those fleeing wars and coming legally, we will treat them as our values as a party demand,” he added.

The GERB leader noted that there is only 3% under the Recovery and Resilience Plan have been disbursed and that there are billions in Brussels to invest in Bulgarian infrastructure, education, innovation, and growth.

“We boast that we increase the pensioners' money, both us [GERB] and them [Continue the Chane-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB)], but how can we increase it, if we didn't earn it? We have taken a loan, we have indebted the children and grandchildren,” he said.

Borissov added that CC-DB leader Kiril Petkov and his government had an absolute majority these three years and asked why they did not adopt the Recovery and Resilience Plan. “Tomislav Donchev and I left him in Parliament three years ago. If laws had to be changed, why weren't they changed?” Borissov asked.

“We have saved the Maritsa TTPs for the next four years,” he noted.
