Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) co-leader Assen Vassilev, who spoke at a press conference here on Monday, said that any time this government makes outrageous decisions, "we will demand that Parliament intervenes and that these outrageous actions are stopped." Vassilev's comment comes after a National Social Security Institute (NSSI) draft report allegedly suggested on Sunday that pensions will only be raised by 10% instead of 11%.

Caretaker Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivaylo Ivanov said in Sofia earlier on Monday that he will propose that the pensions update from July 1, 2024, be set at 11% during Tuesday's meeting of the NSSI National Social Security Institute's Supervisory Board, as it was adopted by Parliament.

Vassilev and another CC-DB co-leader, Kiril Petkov, reported that later Monday signatures will be collected and submitted either on Monday evening or Tuesday morning to call extraordinary sitting of parliament on this case.

Petkov said: "We need 48 signatures. We want the meeting to be on two points - hearing the Prime Minister [Dimitar Glavchev] on the case and obliging the Council of Ministers to pay the 11%. If by then they have accepted that it is 11%, we will just stay on questioning the Prime Minister."
