Ten of the most outstanding students from the Mengen Vocational School in Turkiye visited the University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv, said Prof. Hafize Fidan, Head of the International Department of the UFT, on Monday.

The students were accompanied by three of their teachers and took part in a master class at the Department for Milk and Dairy Products Technology, at the end of which they received certificates from Prof. Galin Ivanov, Head of the Department. The student group also got acquainted with the opportunities for studies in English at the university, the opportunities for preparatory studies and the international exchange programs.

Afterwards, the students visited a Career Days Exhibition with leading enterprises from the food industry and the tourism sector. The event was organized with the support of the Director of the Vocational High School, Abdurahman Elarslan.

Mengen Vocational School opened its doors in 1985 as the first specialized school for training chefs in Turkiye. Since imperial times, the Turkish region has been famous for its master chefs, with traditions passed down from one generation to another to this day. Currently, approximately 1,000 students from over 60 Turkish provinces are studying at the high school.
