site.btaGovernment Extends Re-registration Deadline for Ukrainian Refugees under Temporary Protection

At its meeting on Wednesday, the Cabinet amended its decision of August 4, 2016 in relation to the samples of registration cards issued by the State Agency for Refugees with the Council of Ministers, the Government Information Service said.  The revision extends until March 31, 2024 the period for re-registration of Ukrainian refugees granted a temporary protection status in Bulgaria.

The amendment was prompted by the extension of the temporary protection until March 4, 2025.

At the end of 2023, the Government also extended (until April 30, 2024) the programme for humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Ukraine with temporary protection in this country. The programme, introduced shortly after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has been amended and extended several times.
