site.btaUPDATED 37-Year-Old Foreigner Arrested in Bulgaria for Hamas-Related Activity in Austria

Bulgaria has arrested a 37-year-old Slovenian man who is wanted in Austria for criminal activity and connection with Hamas, said the prosecution service on Friday. He was detained in Sofia on a European arrest warrant.

The man is identified as E. A. 

The court is yet to decide on the man's extradition.

Later in the day, the State Agency for National Security (SANS) said its check found no data that the detained has connections with Bulgarians and foreigners residing in Bulgaria. The check was carried out prior to E. A.'s arrest, which was done on a European arrest warrant issued by the prosecution service in Wels, Austria.

The incriminating activity of E. A. does not concern Bulgaria, the SANS also said.
