The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) set the price of natural gas for October at BGN 75.89/MWh, excluding access, transmission, excise, and VAT costs, as was proposed by Bulgaria's state-owned natural gas distributor Bulgargaz, the EWRC reported here on Sunday. This is an increase of 10.48% from the previous month's price of BGN 68.69/MWh.

Bulgargaz said that the proposed price is more than BGN 11/MWh lower than the TTF index for December and more than BGN 17/MWh lower than the current prices on European gas markets.

The distributor had sent a letter to the EWRC mid-November proposing a lower price of BGN 73.92/MWh.
