Kornelia Ninova Heads Bulgarian Socialist Party

Sofia, May 8 (BTA) - Kornelia Ninova is the new leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). In a second round of voting, her bid for the top party post was supported by 395 delegates to the 49th BSP Congress, and her opponent, the outgoing leader Mihail Mikov, won 349 votes, election commission chair Roumyana Siderova announced.

A visibly moved Ninova told the congress: "Thank you for your trust, I will not disappoint you, I will not betray you."
