20 Kg of Heroin Found in Bulgarian-registered Car at Danube Bridge Border Crossing

Rousse, on the Danube, May 14 (BTA) - Twenty kilograms of heroin were found in a Bulgarian-registered car at the Danube Bridge border crossing in the early hours of Saturday, the local customs office reported. The drugs are valued at 1.8 million leva by the authorities.

The vehicle was singled out for a detailed inspection and an officer found a cavity, where the 39 packets of heroin were hidden.

The case has been referred to the Border Police Directorate and is supervised by the Rousse District Prosecution Office.
