50 Kg of Drugs Seized in 48 Hours
Haskovo, Southern Bulgaria, May 15 (BTA) - Customs officers have intercepted two attempts at drug smuggling at the Bulgarian-Turkish border over the past 48 hours.
On May 14, a Bulgarian tried to smuggle 17 kg of heroin with a street value of 1.2 million leva on a bus from Turkey. The man had a criminal record.
On May 13, customs officers found nearly 36 kg of amphetamines, worth 1.1 million leva, concealed in the car of a 48-year old Bulgarian on his way to Turkey. The man has been detained for 72 hours.
Also, the authorities intercepted two attempts at goods contraband in a large scale at Lessovo and Kapitan Andreevo.
