The forum was organized by Vesela Lecheva, former sports minister and President of the Bulgarian Shooting Union, who is also a member of the IOC Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Commission.
The discussion, opened by NSA Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov, included participation from Sports and Youth Minister Ivan Peshev, Bulgarian Olympic Committee Secretary General Belcho Goranov, Deputy Education Minister Natalia Miteva, among other key figures.
The event aimed to highlight one of the IOC's key priorities—the development of artificial intelligence, its challenges in sports, and the ethical considerations surrounding its use.
The Olympic AI Programme is the third in a trilogy of strategic documents initiated under IOC President Thomas Bach, outlining the expected impact of AI on sports.
The forum also welcomed representatives from leading Bulgarian sports federations, eager to expand their expertise and explore new innovations in AI applications in sports.
