Bulgarian swimmer Diana Petkova finished 7th in the women’s 100m medley event at the 2024 World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest on Friday. She needed 58.73 seconds to cover the distance.
Petkova's achievement comes on top of a national record of 58.28 seconds that she set in the semifinals of the same event a day earlier.
American swimmer Gretchen Walsh won the gold with a time of 55.11 seconds. She was followed by her compatriot Kate Douglass with 56.49 and France's Beryl Gastaldello with 56.67.
