site.btaOlympic Weightlifting Champion Karlos Nasar to Receive 2024 Ikar Sports Award
At a ceremony in Sofia on December 19, Bulgaria's Olympic weightlifting champion Karlos Nasar will receive the 2024 Ikar Sports Award of the Bulgarian Sport foundation. The 20-year-old Nasar won the gold medal in the men’s 89 kg weight class at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris by setting two world records.
Bulgaria’s other two Olympic champions from the Paris Olympics – wrestlers Semen Novikov and Magomed Ramazanov will be awarded in the "Impressive Performance" category. Novikov won the gold medal in the men's 87kg Greco-Roman event and Ramazanov beat the competition in the men's 86 kg freestyle event.
The foundation has selected Bulgaria’s national U18 girls’ volleyball team, which became European champion, as Team of the Year.
On December 19, the Bulgarian Sport foundation will award Bulgarian athletes in a total of ten categories.
