site.btaBulgaria Wins 23 Medals at Taekwondo Tournament in Serbia

Bulgarian athletes won 23 medals (5 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze) at the annual Galeb Open G1 Taekwondo Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

In the men's and women's Alexandra Georgieva and Denis Dimitrov won the silver medals after an excellent performance and tough battles to the finals, while Christian Georgiev and Kalina Boyadjieva took bronze in the competition. In the same discipline brothers Mitko and Alexander Djordjev and Martina Atanasova remained fifth.

Another recognition for Bulgaria was the selection of Radoslav Georgiev as the number one judge at the tournament.

The Bulgarian athletes were led by national coach Farzad Zolghadri, Ventsislav Sokolov, Stanimir Lazarov and Angel Kirchev.
