Arexim Engineering and the Sol Marina Palace Hotel, the first Bulgarian winners of the Schneider Electric Sustainability IMPACT Awards, were recognised for their achievements at an official ceremony on Thursday at the Hilton Sofia. The event was organised by Schneider Electric Bulgaria.
Kiril Asenov Jr, New Projects Manager at Arexim Engineering, received the award from Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Georgi Angelov. The second award was handed to Sol Marina Palace Hotel Manager Zlatimir Krastev by Nikola Barbutov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality for European Policies, International Activities, and Tourism.
After their success in the local edition of the competition, the two Bulgarian companies will now advance to the European-level round. The final phase of the contest is international and will determine the ultimate winners of this third edition of the Sustainability IMPACT Awards, expected to be held this autumn.
Deputy Minister Angelov said Schneider Electric exemplifies the benefits of innovation. He added that the Ministry of Innovation and Growth is working to replicate such [sustainable development] strategies and promote them in Bulgaria.
Among the participants was Yonko Chuklev, Deputy Chair of the Professional Association of Robotics, Automation, and Innovation (PARAi). Bulgaria is not just an observer in sustainability but an active participant, Chuklev said, noting that the central question now is, “What will we create tomorrow?”
The ceremony also featured a discussion titled Innovation Talk, including contributions from InvestBulgaria Agency Executive Director Mila Nenova, on topics of national importance regarding the long-term vision for sustainability in Bulgarian industry.
