The Parliamentary Committee on Energy adopted a bill on providing financial support to household end customers of electricity, submitted on Wednesday by Pavela Mitova, Delyan Dobrev, Dragomir Stoynev and Ramadan Atalay.
By a decree of the Council of Ministers of December 30, 2024, additional expenses were approved under the budget of the Ministry of Energy in the amount of BGN 2.2 million, to be provided to the Electricity System Security Fund, so that 26,000 household end customers can receive their support. The bill provides a legal basis for these payments.
The bill does not cancel the penalties of electricity distribution companies under their contractual relationships.
With the adoption of the bill, financial support can be provided to end-user customers with the latest February invoices.
