The National Tourism Board (NTB) has called for a suspension of road repairs leading to seaside resorts or, where suspension is not feasible, improved organisation to expedite completion. This appeal aims to ensure uninterrupted access to Black Sea resorts during the peak summer season.

The request was directed to the Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova. The board's concerns are prompted by increased traffic along the Trakia motorway to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The NTB highlighted ongoing repair works on major road arteries in the country, which disrupt tourist movement, complicate traffic, and increase the risk of accidents. The board also emphasized that smooth tourist travel influences holiday choices, impacts national economic revenue, and shapes the country's reputation as a tourist destination.
