site.btaAZAL's Sofia-Baku Inaugural Flight Celebrated with Water Salute at Sofia Airport

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) launched a direct flight service from Baku to Sofia on Friday. The launch was marked with a water salute at a special ceremony. This service offers Bulgarian passengers a direct route to the capital of Azerbaijan.

The project initiated three years ago and resulted in the first flight from Baku. "This event signifies the friendly relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan", said Jesus Caballero, Chief Executive Officer of Sofia Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport.

Kamran Gajar, AZAL Regional Manager for Europe, highlighted the airline's importance as an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
