Beginning February 13, motorhomes of category M1, specified in the road vehicle registration certificate, are required to pay a vignette fee, regardless of their total technically permissible maximum mass, stipulate amendments and additions to the Road Act, published in the State Gazette. Prior to these changes, if camping vehicles of the M1 category were under 3.5 tonnes, they required a vignette, and those over 3.5 tonnes, were required to pay a toll fee.

The prices of electronic vignettes for cars up to 3.5 tonnes, as well as for trailers or caravans attached to them, will remain unchanged in 2024. The annual fee is BGN 87, the quarterly fee is BGN 48, the monthly fee is BGN 27, and the weekly fee is BGN 13. The price of the weekend vignette remains unchanged at BGN 9.

A separate e-vignette for a trailer or caravan should be only purchased if, when attached to a car, their total weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes. The electronic vignette for the car and for the trailer/caravan can be of different durations as needed. For example, the vignette for the passenger car may be annual, and for the trailer or caravan it may be monthly, weekly or of another duration depending on the driver's preferences.

At the end of January, the Parliament adopted at second reading amendments to the Road Act introduced by the Council of Ministers, which provided that all camping vehicles, regardless of their total technically permissible maximum mass, must pay a vignette fee for category M1.
