site.btaGovernment Will Try to Prevent Unjustified Mobile Services Price Hike
“If there are no arguments why Bulgarian citizens should pay more, we will use all the mechanisms of the state to prevent an unregulated increase in fees,” Economy Minister Bogdan Bogdanov said in a televised interview on Saturday.
There will be a meeting between the Economy Ministry and the mobile operators next week, the Minister said. Bogdanov said the Economy Ministry wants to understand the arguments for the increase in prices for mobile services, as well as to see the financial results, profits and operating costs of mobile operators.
"It should be explained very clearly why Bulgarian citizens have to pay more," the Minister said.
Asked whether he would remain a minister after the rotation, Bogdanov said that the important issue now was to do the job for which the ministers are appointed. "The rotation is a technical element, but it should not be the basis of our discussion about Bulgaria's future," he said.
Bogdanov said that there has been no discussion yet on whether he will remain in the next cabinet. At the moment there are talks between the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and the parties, and the work of each minister is assessed.
