site.btaFive Companies Submit Applications to Call for Expression of Interest for Construction of Kozloduy NPP's Units 7 and 8

The Ministry of Energy reported here on Friday that five companies have expressed interest in the announcement of Kozloduy NPP-New Builds to undertake actions for the construction of Units 7 and 8 at Site 2 of Bulgaria's nuclear power plant with AR-1000 technology. The procedure for requalification is in compliance with the decision of the National Assembly of December 18, 2023.

The deadline for applications expired on February 2, 2024 at 17:00. A committee will review the attached documentation beginning next week.

The requirements for applicants are to demonstrate experience in the construction and commissioning of a minimum of two nuclear power plant units, to have worked within a nuclear or turbine island on at least two units, or have supplied and installed equipment for two units within the last 15 years. Interested applicants should be able to demonstrate at least USD 6 billion in turnover and profit for the five-year period from 2018 to 2022.
