The 2024 Brand Bulgaria forum, dedicated to Bulgarian culture and tourism and the image of the country in national and international communication, starts at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Marinella Hotel in Sofia, the National Board of Tourism (NBT) said. The NBT, the Cultural Heritage Society, Europa Nostra's partner for Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian media Standard are co-organising the forum, in partnership with the Tourism Ministry, the Culture Ministry and the Bulgarian Industrial Association.

Tourism Minister Zaritza Dinkova and Culture Minister Krastyu Krastev were invited to participate in the discussion. The forum will be attended by representatives of the legislative and local authorities, academia, NGOs and the media.

The discussion aims to outline the Tourism Ministry's plan for the development of cultural and historical tourism in four seasons, based on cultural and historical and natural heritage, and additional, but increasingly in demand worldwide types of accompanying tourism: spa and wellness, wine, culinary, adventure, congress, the organizers of the event said. On the other hand, the forum will provide a detailed presentation of the Culture Ministry's vision for turning cultural heritage into a base for cultural and historical tourism.

Preliminary talks with the various sectors that have requested to participate show that there is a great expectation for the rapid realisation of Brand Bulgaria, the NBT said. Apart from creating a new, impressive image of Bulgaria in front of the world, Brand Bulgaria is a basis and a hope for the development of the regions in the country and for overcoming the social and economic inequalities between them, the organisation said.
