The majority of businesses in European Union countries (93.9%) used a fixed broadband connection to access the Internet in 2023, indicated data from the European statistical agency Eurostat, published on Thursday on its website.

The number of EU businesses using fixed broadband has increased by 2.9 percentage points in 2023 compared to pre-pandemic 2019 (91%). Among the EU countries, the most significant increase was registered in Greece (15.8 percentage points), Romania (15.6 percentage points) and Bulgaria (8.7 percentage points).
