Bulgarian snowboarder Malena Zamfirova came in second in the FIS women's parallel giant slalom in Nova Levante, Italy on Sunday. Facing the experienced Italian athlete Sofia Valle in the big final, Zamfirova made a minor mistake, which was enough to deprive her of the title.

On Saturday, the 15-year-old finished 12th in the European Cup parallel giant slalom in another Italian resort, Folgaria.

In the men's division of the event in Nova Levante, Bulgaria's Georgi Karadjinov gave a decent performance and finished fifth. The race was won by Tommy Rabanser of Italy.
