The agreement concluded on Tuesday between the Prime Minister, ministers, MPs and trade unionists is difficult to implement, said Energy Minister Rumen Radev. He was speaking to journalists in Parliament after a meeting of the parliamentary energy committee. He added, however, it can be achieved.

Parliament is set the vote the agreement on Wednnesday.

The Energy Minister voiced hope that the roadblocks will be lifted as early as Wednesday. According to Radev, each day lost in this manner of conducting a dialogue is a missed opportunity to update the territorial just transition plans. "The good, proper place for holding negotiations is at the table,” said the Minister.

Radev warned against ignoring “the elephant in the room”, as problems have accumulated for years in the coal sector. The aim is to prevent them from endangering the sustainable jobs in the sector, he said.
