Energy Minister Rumen Radev and his deputy Krassimir Nenov will meet Saturday with protesting energy workers and miners, the government's press centre said.

The talks will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the administrative building of the Maritza East 2 thermal power plant. Invited are the legitimate trade union representatives of the power plant and the Mines Maritsa East energy holding, as well as the management of the two companies.

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov is organising a meeting with protesting energy workers and miners on Sunday, October 1, at the Council of Ministers.

Invited are the leaders of the trade unions of the CITUB and Podkrepa Labour Confederation, the presidents of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Miners to the CITUB, the National Federation of Energy Workers to the CITUB, the Independent Trade Union Federation of Energy Workers in Bulgaria to the CITUB, of CITUB trade unions at Maritsa East 2 thermal power plant, Mines Maritsa-East, individual mines of Mines Maritsa-East and Bobov Dol thermal power plant, and the heads of the Miners' Trade Union Federation and the Energy Federation, and of the trade union regional unions of Podkrepa in Kyustendil, Pernik and Stara Zagora.

Protesting miners and energy workers blocked key roads across Bulgaria on Friday - Trakia motorway, Struma motorway, and the Danube Bridge border crossing. Their demands are for revisions of the Territorial Just Transition Plans (TJTPs) in the coal regions across the country. Energy workers urged the Council of Ministers to postpone their agenda item on the TJTPs, which was to be considered during a Friday extraordinary meeting.
