Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already left its academic image and entered heavily into the business world, said Bulgarian Association of Software Companies (BASCOM) Board Chair Dobroslav Dimitrov in his opening speech at the Business Tree Forum in Sofia on Tuesday. Companies that realize this fact faster will be able to catch the crest of the wave, he added.

The initiative showed how AI projects developed by Bulgarian companies are successfully implemented in real business for second consecutive year. The forum brought together the latest AI-based business technology solutions.

Guest speakers were Bosch Digital Director Pavlin Dobrev, Childish.AI employee Georgi Nalbantov, who is also a lecturer in Statistical Modeling and Big Data Processing at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University, Deep Infra Founder Nikola Borisov, who is a former head of a backend team in Silicon Valley, and Krasimir Stoev, co-founder and lecturer at IT Talents Training Camp, which uses artificial intelligence for stroke diagnosis.

"Our achievements are beginning to be noticed at all levels of Bulgarian society," Dimitrov noted.

Stoev stated that in the last six months, since the revolutionary product of the Open AI company - ChatGPT - appeared on the global market, all major corporations in the IT business have been trying to catch up. "For example, the ChatGPT 4 project is developing very quickly and with a lot of success, as of yesterday the news is that it now takes photo and voice commands and can narrate," Stoev stated.

He pointed out as particularly interesting the so-called Med-PaLM 2 project, which uses images of sick patients to make diagnoses - it has already been implemented in medicine. "From a snapshot taken of a sick person, the AI immediately detects that he is suffering from TB or smallpox according to the parameters set in it," Stoev explained.

The IT Talents Training Camp co-founder said that Facebook is trying to preserve the languages of the world and made its own revolutionary project that can read a text in 1,100 languages. "Artificial intelligence will only seriously threaten the service jobs. AI is getting support at managerial level and it is facing significant resistance at the employee level," he added.

"AI will not displace human intelligence and humans from their activities, it will simply facilitate their work in every field and industry," stressed Stoev.
