site.btaFM Gabriel to Lead Bulgarian Delegation during Bulgaria-US Strategic Dialogue Session

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel will lead the Bulgarian Government delegation at the second session of the Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of Bulgaria and the United States, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said Friday. 

The session will take place on 25 September in Washington. The Bulgarian delegation includes Justice Minister Atanas Slavov, Energy Minister Rumen Radev, Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoycheva, as well as deputy ministers. 

The following areas are to be discussed: common approaches to regional and global problems, deepening cooperation in defence and security, expanding economic and energy sector cooperation, protecting democracy and the rule of law, expanding bilateral ties.

At the end of the session, Gabriel will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Bulgaria and the US on countering foreign manipulation of information.  

Mariya Gabriel will also have a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Washington. 

The High-Level Strategic Dialogue between Bulgaria and the US is a forum for consultations and cooperation on global, regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest. It was launched on 8 January 2020 between the governments of Bulgaria and the United States.
