During the meeting, it emerged that some 1,500 tonnes of wheat with proven levels of pesticides banned by the EU have been seized in Slovakia. Earlier this month, Hungary detected and destroyed more than 29 tonnes of maize with toxins and GMOs. Bulgaria is also carrying out increased checks on the quality and safety of agricultural imports, the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture said.
