site.btaIndustrial Production in Bulgaria Rises on Monthly and Annual Basis, National Statistical Institute Reports for November 2024

The industrial production index in November 2024 increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said here on Friday, preliminary and seasonally adjusted data.

Compared to November 2023, the calendar-adjusted industrial production index rose by 2.8%. NSI data indicates that in October, industrial production saw a decline of 0.7% on a monthly basis and 1.6% on an annual basis.

Monthly Changes

An increase compared to October 2024 was recorded in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas by 1.2%, in the mining industry by 0.4%, and in manufacturing by 0.2%. In October 2024, statistics showed a decline in the mining industry by 22.9% and in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas by 4.8%, while manufacturing posted a 1.3% increase.

Annual Changes

On an annual basis, November 2024 saw a rise in industrial production, based on calendar-adjusted data, in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas by 10.7% and in manufacturing by 4.1%, while the mining industry experienced a decline of 5.2%.

In October 2024, annual data showed a 10% decrease in the mining industry and a 0.1% drop in manufacturing, while production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas rose by 7.9%, according to NSI.
