site.btaDemocratic Bulgaria "Not Involved" in Any Government-Forming Talks

Democratic Bulgaria (DB) is not involved in any negotiations at present and not participating in anything behind the scenes, MP Bozhidar Bozhanov told journalists on Friday after GERB-UDF said earlier in the week that the negotiations for forming a new regular government would continue without DB.

"If there are any other goings-on, I cannot say," Bozhanov added.

He commented: "Our part in the process was based on the assumption that we needed to agree to implement a judicial reform, to have an unbiased prosecution service, and the influence of [MP Delyan] Peevski on the judicial system and beyond should be curtailed. We made progress on a draft agreement, but no final agreement was reached."
