The Little Bird Place Gallery in Sofia opened an exhibition titled Terrarium by Alexander Lazarkov on Friday.

"Alexander Lazarkov presents a compelling visual narrative about the fragile balance between man and nature, in the context of climate crises that are irreversibly transforming the biological world," Curator Marina Slavova emphasised.

The exhibition transforms the gallery space into a symbolic ecosystem model that includes three series of objects: melting coral reefs capturing the alarming effects of climate change, glacial structures expressing the loss of centuries-old geometries, and textured prints of endangered species, such as the Corroboree frog. Through innovations in materials and techniques, Lazarkov not only visualizes these ecological crises, but also poses a provocative question about the role of human kind," Slavova pointed out.

Alexander Lazarkov was born in 1999 in Sofia. He is an award-winning Bulgarian artist with extensive participation in national and international exhibitions and his work combines innovative technologies with classical means of expression.

The exhibition will continue until January 26. It is supported by the National Culture Fund and is the first of six exhibitions under an initiative for art on sustainability, which aims to explore the impact of climate change and future environmental trends through contemporary art.
